Garage-sale beginnings
Around 20 years ago, it was weekend garage sales, second-hand goods and the thrill of finding something useful, unusual or forgotten that still had plenty of life left in it.
Aussie Bargain Hunter grew from weekend garage-sale finds and second-hand bargains into buying storage lockers, clearing out interesting stock and building a huge online range of new, pre-owned, vintage and one-off items.
We didn't start with a warehouse, a huge catalogue or a polished online store. We started the old-fashioned way: looking for good things at good prices and learning what people actually wanted to buy.
Around 20 years ago, it was weekend garage sales, second-hand goods and the thrill of finding something useful, unusual or forgotten that still had plenty of life left in it.
We moved into buying storage lockers and larger lots. Every load was different ā tools, gaming, electronics, collectables, homewares and the kind of one-off finds you can't simply reorder.
The range is much bigger now and includes thousands of new products too, but we still like the hands-on part: finding stock, listing it clearly, packing orders properly and helping customers when they need us.
Aussie Bargain Hunter was built from real second-hand buying, not from a boardroom. We care about the condition of the item, the accuracy of the listing and what turns up at your door. For one-off stock, we try to show the item honestly. For every order, we want the price to feel fair and the experience to feel straightforward.
Come for the one-off second-hand finds, or dig through the much larger everyday catalogue. Either way, there's always something different turning up.
The side of the business we started with ā second-hand, vintage, collectable and hard-to-find stock where once it's gone, it may really be gone.
