The 3-band diode laser hair removal machine is a commonly used wavelength in the hair removal field, as it can be efficiently absorbed by melanin in hair follicles and has strong penetration, reaching directly to the root of hair follicles. The 3-wavelength hair removal machine may be combined with other wavelengths (such as 755nm, 1064nm, etc.) on the basis of 808nm, which can further optimize energy distribution for hair follicles or skin tissues at different depths, and improve the coverage ability of hair of different thicknesses and depths.

Hair follicles and hair shafts contain abundant melanin, which is the "target" of laser energy. When the multi wavelength laser emitted by the hair removal machine irradiates the skin, melanin preferentially absorbs specific wavelengths of light energy and quickly converts it into thermal energy. The principle of picosecond laser is mainly based on the following two core effects:

Picosecond lasers emit beams of specific wavelengths, which are selectively absorbed by pigment particles in the skin, such as melanin. Due to the extremely short pulse of picosecond laser (1 picosecond equals one trillionth of a second), energy is concentrated and released in a very short period of time, causing pigment particles to rapidly heat up and expand. This rapid energy transfer causes thermal stress inside the pigment particles, leading to explosion and crushing larger pigment particles into smaller fragments.

Photoacoustic effect

On the basis of photothermal effect, picosecond laser also triggers photoacoustic effect. Laser energy excites pigment particles to generate mechanical vibration waves, which further shatter the pigment particles and decompose them more thoroughly. The photoacoustic effect breaks down pigment particles into nano-sized tiny particles, which are more easily recognized and engulfed by immune cells such as macrophages in the skin, and then excreted through metabolism.

Through the synergistic effect of these two effects, picosecond laser can efficiently remove pigmentation in the skin without damaging surrounding normal tissues, achieving therapeutic goals such as freckle removal and tattoo removal.
